PLASTIC FREE BEACHES

A team of creatives from Sydney’s Northern Beaches have taken an unconventional approach to raising awareness during Plastic Free July, using a series of artworks to encourage Northern Beaches locals to reduce their plastic waste.

Mural artist Patrick Hunter, aka Inkhunter, has designed a series of street art posters that will be available for free download; encouraging places such as local businesses, shop fronts, cafes and schools to display this artwork.

The campaign presents the problem through a unique lens, and challenges locals to join the global movement by highlighting the negative impact plastic has on our oceans and marine life.

The #PlasticFreeBeaches team said “Our goal is to raise awareness by creating imagery that is made to stand out. We need all the support we can get to share this message. So far, the community response and acceptance has been incredible and we’re hopeful that this translates to permanent change,”

Special thanks to all who have helped launch this initiative, including but not limited to. @inkhunterartist, @olliebrewin, @thecrazeco, @el.devine, @matt.lambley, @thedroneman, @mlon, @profetsone, @bezier__, @ballinonabudgetmedia & @plasticfreejuly
